Durability instead of greenwashing

Sustainability with Scoot and Ride

Everyone is still talking about sustainability - but what does it really mean? At Scoot and Ride, we don't rely on empty promises, short-term marketing campaigns or products in which the smallest components are made from compostable or “sustainable green” materials.

We are committed to a concept that has characterized our scooters and slides from the very beginning: durability. Because for us, the most sustainable solution is not a quick replacement, but a product that can be used, repaired and, in many cases, passed on for years to come.

Robust materials for a long service life

Before a product is created, the work begins with the strict selection of the materials used. Our children's scooters and pushchairs are made from high-quality, durable materials that retain their function and stability even after intensive use. This means less waste, fewer new purchases and more fun for little adventurers. We develop our products so that they can withstand daily wear and tear and do not need to be replaced after a short time.

Spare parts for even longer use

Another core principle of our sustainability strategy is repairability. Each of our models offers suitable spare parts - from wheels and handles to brakes and footboards. So if a component of the scooter is defective, you don't have to buy a new one straight away. Instead, it can simply be repaired so that it continues to serve its purpose and doesn't end up in the bin.

Pass on instead of throwing away

Our products grow with the children - and often even beyond. Thanks to the high quality and the possibility of repair, our scooters can easily be passed on to younger siblings or friends. This means that several generations can enjoy a single scooter and parents don't have to keep buying new products.

Plastic-free packaging

Our children's scooters are delivered completely without plastic packaging to avoid unnecessary plastic waste. Only our helmets are packaged in plastic film to protect them from damage during transportation - but here too we are constantly looking for new ways to reduce packaging waste without compromising the safety of our products.

Recyclable EPP

We use recyclable EPP (expanded polypropylene) for our “My First” model.

This material is not only extremely light and durable, but also fully recyclable. We therefore offer a more environmentally friendly alternative without compromising on the usual quality and durability.

Our understanding of sustainability

Of course, our children's scooters are made of plastic - this is hard to avoid for products that need to be lightweight yet very robust. But we make sure that this plastic is used sensibly: for a long service life and the possibility of replacing broken parts.

We believe that real sustainability does not come from interchangeable, “ecological” trend products, but from well thought-out designs and functionalities that give children pleasure for a long time and at the same time conserve resources

For us, sustainability means taking responsibility - for our products, our environment and the families who place their trust in us. And that is exactly what we work on every day.
